The World Poker Tour has announced the return of the WPT World Championship. The centerpiece of the season will be the biggest ever with a guaranteed prize pool of $15 million.

Qualify Online for WPT World Championship

Participating in the World Championship doesn’t mean you have to shell out the buy-in straight away as there are numerous ways to qualify online for much less. About the WPT World Championship

The WPT World Championship will take place April 27 – May 4, 2023, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The $15 million guaranteed prize pool for the eight-day event is the largest in WPT history. The buy-in is set at $10,400. Satellites start at $1 on .

WPT World Championship Schedule

The schedule includes nine events with buy-ins ranging from $1,500 to $10,400. A total of $25.5 million is guaranteed across all tournaments.

The $1,500 Daily Fantasy WPT National will run April 28 – May 3 with two flights per day and unlimited re-entries. This event is expected to draw thousands of players and come with a large guarantee.

Another highlight is the Mystery Bounty ($500), where each player begins playing with a balance and a bounty. The balance increases as players accumulate kills, while the bounty decreases by mystery amounts at random whenever a player gets knocked out. The $3,500 High Roller 8-Game 60-player event is expected to attract pros looking for a challenge outside of Hold’em.

The WPT National $360 No-Limit Hold’em will run April 28 – May 3 with multiple daily flights and unlimited re-entries. This event is expected to draw thousands of players and come with a large guarantee.

WPT World Championship Qualification Paths

The WPT Prime Championship $3,500 Buy-In will have three starting flights over two days and feature a hybrid structure similar to the WPT Prime Music City Poker Open Championship.

The WPT National $1,000 Mini Main Event has two starting days and will play down to a final table. The winner will be chosen in a subsequent day’s ceremony.

The WPT World Championship Online $1,050 Buy-In will be a three-day event with an unlimited number of re-entries. This tournament will have a substantial guarantee.

The WPT World Championship $10,400 Buy-In Main Event will have five starting days. It will have a guaranteed prize pool of $15 million, making it the largest in WPT history. Players will start with 30 big blinds, and levels will be two hours and 15 minutes.

The WPT National $1,500 Daily Fantasy Slow Bounty ($500) will be played on one day and features a daily fantasy format with a $500 bounty and a slow structure.

The WPT National $3,500 High Roller 8-Game 60-player will have one starting day with no re-entries. This event is open to the first 60 registered players.

The WPT National $360 No-Limit Hold’em will have five starting days with unlimited re-entries and will play down to the final table. The winner will be determined on the last day.

The WPT Super Deepstack $1,600 Buy-In will have four starting days with unlimited re-entries and play down to the final table. The winner will be decided on the last day.

The WPT Prime Championship $3,500 Buy-In will have three starting days, followed by Oct. 2 Day 2, and feature a hybrid structure like the WPT Prime Music City Poker Open Championship.

The WPT National $1,000 Mini Main Event will have two starting days, followed by Oct. 2 Day 2, and play down to the final table. The winner will be determined on Oct. 3.

The WPT World Championship Online $1,050 Buy-In will have Oct. 2 Day 1 and Oct. 3 Day 2. There will be unlimited re-entries.

The WPT National $1,500 Daily Fantasy Slow Bounty will be played on Oct. 3 and features a daily fantasy format with a $500 bounty and a slower structure.

The WPT National $3,500 High Roller 8-Game 60-player will be held on Oct. 3 and is limited to the first 60 registered players. There are no re-entries.

The ratings require rest periods between events. As a result, the WPT National $360 No-Limit Hold’em has been moved to Oct. 4-5, with Oct. 4 consisting of Days 1A and 1B, and Oct. 5 being Day 2. The winner will be declared on Oct. 5.

The WPT Super Deepstack has also been rescheduled and will take place on Oct. 4-7. Day 1 will occur on Oct. 4, followed by Days 2-4 on Oct. 5-7. The winner will be determined on Oct. 7.

The WPT Prime Championship will take place on Oct. 4-6. Oct. 4 will have Starting Flights 1A and 1B, Oct. 5 will have Starting Flight 2 and Day 2, and Oct. 6 will be the scheduled end date.

The WPT National $1,000 Mini Main Event will now take place on Oct. 5, with Days 1A and 1B, followed by Day 2 and the final table on Oct. 6.

The WPT World Championship Online will be held on Oct. 5 for Day 1 and Oct. 6 for Day 2. Both days allow for unlimited re-entries.

The WPT National $1,500 Daily Fantasy Slow Bounty will move to Oct. 6 and maintain its original format with a $500 bounty and slower structure.

The WPT Super Deepstack has been pushed back to Oct. 20-23. Oct. 20 will consist of Day 1, followed by Days 2-3 on Oct. 21-22. The tournament will conclude on Oct. 23 with the determination of the winner.

The WPT Prime Championship has been rescheduled for Oct. 20-22. Starting Flights will take place on Oct. 20, and Day 2 will be on Oct. 21. The tournament will culminate in a decision on Oct. 22.

The WPT National $1,000 Mini Main Event has been shifted to Oct. 21-22. Day 1 will occur on Oct. 21, and the final table and winner declaration will be on Oct. 22.

The WPT World Championship Online has been moved to Oct. 21 for Day 1 and Oct. 22 for Day 2. Both days allow for unlimited re-entries.

Documentaries

To give fans a behind-the-scenes look into the WPT World Championship, two documentaries will be created. “Road to the WPTWC” will follow six qualifiers from around the world as they navigate their paths to South Florida. “Chasing History” will focus on the quest to win a third WPT WC title and break the record for most career wins. The documentary will delve into the lives and strategies of these experienced players. Both documentaries will be directed by Paul Wattenberg and produced by Bethany Wattenberg and David Lazrevski. They will be executive produced by WPT Founder and Executive Chairman Steve Lipscomb and WPT President Adam Pliska.
